DD Cone Marked Uhlinger Pistol Excellent. This is an outstanding example of a William Uhlinger .32 Rim Fire Pocket Revolver.William P. Uhlinger produced about 10,000 rimfire cartridge revolvers (two types in .22 caliber and one type in .32 caliber) in Philadelphia, PA between 1861 and 1865.

Grips are fine, showing light wear and a small minor crack by right screw ring. Description. An historic Whitney, hooded cylinder, percussion pocket size revolver, made between 1850 and 1853. This brass frame pistol has come directly from the Whitney family with an original hand written and signed letter by Eli Whitney. 2014-01-18 William Uhlinger Pocket Revolver fine example of the Uhlinger pocket model. Note: William Uhlinger produced a number of rimfire revolvers, most in .22 caliber, during the 1860s. As they were an infringement on the Rollin White patent owned by Smith & Wesson, who were very active in prosecuting an infringements, Uhlinger marked the guns were various names to avoid prosecution.

This piece has been traditionally known as a "Grant Revolver," since the type was an infringement on Smith & Wesson, and Uhlingers were marketed under such names as Grant, Lower and Cone. From 1861-1865 William P. Uhlinger of Philadelphia manufactured these spur trigger revolvers in both .22 and .32 caliber.
